Dad Have A Light
February 26th, 2009
We got a new camcorder recently. I was trying it out after it was unboxed, of course. Jacob came over and got a glimpse of the LCD screen on it, which he called a light.
“Dad have a light. See it.”
So of course I rotated it around so he could see it. Then I couldn’t, so I was shooting blind. But he enjoyed it.
Here’s the video:

That’s the first video I’ve ever uploaded to a public video sharing site. Finally catching up with the Internet, I guess.

Whoa such a lovely video to watch in the morning (and probably at any other time of the day but I happened to watch it in the morning)! Gives planet.haskell.org a great sense of being a big lovely family … The best post I’ve seen in recent times.

Embedded videos do not work in all browsers, e.g. Lynx,
or on all platforms; however, a direct link to – say – an
AVI file will work if one has mplayer.

Very nice! Now I’ll be expecting more of these! I’m curious about what Jacob was doing in the beginning with the plastic bag. He was really concentrating on that before he saw the light. Thanks for sharing this, John.

I think he was surprised it was hanging there, and figuring out how that worked. Then he got distracted by the camcorder.

Jacob also has a strong sense of order and is very upset when I’ve forgotten to relock the child locks on the cabinets. (Though, as Cliff suggests, Jacob could probably get them off himself…) I imagine it was a combination of the bag being there, the lock being unlocked, and trying to get the whole situation back to how it should be.

I know the answer to nana’a question. He was trying to close the doors to re-attach the child proof lock he had to undo to open the doors in the first place.

He was indeed have a great time with that.

I didn’t want to be the one to suggest it so thanks, Cliff. I thought he might have done it himself and was trying to fix it before Mom noticed!
