Renovation: Weeks 3 – 5

Well, it’s been a few weeks since my last update, but I was still out there once a week taking pictures. The changes have been less dramatic — but then it’s hard to get as dramatic as tearing off the kitchen and pulling off a chunk of a house.

So check out the week 3-5 photos. Note there are two pages of photos.

The lath and plaster is all down. So it looks really empty inside.

The foundation work starts Thursday and continues for about 2 weeks. Then the reconstruction will begin.

Here’s this week’s highlight:

It’s an old wagon that was in the chicken house. Because of the pickup that was in there, I had never been able to get a good picture of it before.

  1. Those are really nice pictures. Thanks.

Did you have a picture of the old pickup that was in the chicken house? If you posted it(them), I missed it. I would love to see its picture(s).

Also, I did a ‘quicksearch’ of ‘SPI’ and got this message: “Your search-query must be longer than 3 characters. You can try to append * to shorter words, like: s9y* to trick the search into using shorter words.”

So I’m still SPI uneducated, but I’ll append in a minute.

    1. Jim, you’re right. I do owe you a picture of that, and I’ve been forgetting. It wasn’t online yet.

I have two photos of it in my collection right now. I took them last week, so I’ve added them to the end of the photos I linked to above. If you go back to the photos, you should see them. Or, you can follow these links directly: photo 1 and photo 2.

Now that the pickup is out of there (it’s at my parents’ place), I can get a nicer photo of the whole thing. I’ll do that sometime — it would be a good thing to have in my collection and to post.

Thanks for dropping by and commenting.

  2. Thanks, John. That is the kind of old pickup that belongs on a farm. As is, but running, it is one you and Terah can drive into town in style on Saturday night.

    1. You know, I think you’re right. It would be a lot more stylish than our current pickup.
