It appears that some Dell laptops now come with hidden keylogger hardware built-in. Some people I asked about this suggested it was a device called a Keyghost.
Why would Dell pay money to do this?
And is it for real?

If that’s true, it will be a problem with Dell, at least with me.
And, if it’s one of this Amecisco’s things, what’s the default password?.
Wait a minute… CONNECTED TO THE ETHERNET?!!”!?!!!.

So Big Brother really is watching us. How nice.
But I will change my password…
Oops… well.. via ssh?
:-P
Are you using a keyboard at the other end? :-)
Have a look at this page:
http://www.dansdata.com/keyghost.htm
the images appear to be from that site (same names and everything)
Only the first (very blurry) image is different (edited in photoshop).
Yep, I noticed that after an earlier commenter posted that URL.
Oh well, still good for entertainment value :-)
If you look at the file-number (20050112-20050119), it refers to a completely different FOIA request:

Honestly after the 9/11 i wouldnt doubt the govt actually paying computer companys to put these in laptops.. Esp laptops.. because the ease of carrying them where ever you go.. and logging on the net almost anywhere… I thinkt here looken for terrorists. It makes sence.. perfect sence.. and i wouldnt doubt it for a min..
