Hi John -- I am about to go on a long bloggers Sabatical so thought I would comment here a little.
Our Baptist church does baby dedication also, from what it sounds it would be the very same as yours. That puts a lot of responsiblility on parents, I know you will think of this dedication many times. BTW, I had been thinking it would be on Mothers Day? I've spent quite a few nights partly in cellars waiting for the storms to pass. The first cellar stay that I remember was at our country school in Nebraska, in the afternoon. The tornado went about two miles to the south. It traveled a long way, maybe fifteen miles, destroying farm homes as it went along. Dad raised his long lane about two feet above the surrounding fields. It was peaked in the center, maybe it was 2 1/2 feet above the fields. Then he covered it with a heavy coat of crushed white rock. This rock would be replenished every few years. This spring Mrs. Jim and I traveled into the farm which has been deserted now for over ten years. It was just after a series of heavy rains and we didn't mire down or slip the tires. The rock had all settled into the soil, to be of practical use it would have to be rerocked. .. |

One of the things about living in the country is that there isn't all that much predictability. You can have your water supply disrupted by ants, sewage issues, power supply problems, etc. But today was a new one that disrupted my morning commute.
