About 3 or 4 years ago when Red Hat first announced their &quot;enterprise&quot; Linux, I was in a meeting with Martin Fink of HP. He was talking about Red Hat, and HP&#039;s relationship with Debian. I asked him &amp; the HP sales-rep why don&#039;t HP support Debian, it offers everything that RHEL offers; stability, versions which are supported for a long time, dedicated developers, dedicated users and so on. They looked at me like I was nuts. If only they had, Debian &amp; HP might have made the &quot;enterprise&quot; Linux space a 3-way between Debian, Novell, &amp; Red Hat.

Before I get flamed! I use &quot;Enterprise&quot; in the sense that big companies do; someone to phone at 4am to complain too ...</description>
