FedEx Is Trying To Contact Me For My Package
October 30th, 2009
Most of us probably get spams with subject lines like “contact courier company for you package.” Yesterday the courier company contacted me.
The FedEx driver called me because it had been raining. He saw my name on the package he was to deliver, and remembered the last time he tried to deliver a package to us (maybe a month ago). It was raining then too. He called to say he was afraid he’d get stuck, and could he please bring the package to me somewhere else?
I told him where I work, and it turned out he was sitting about a mile from there anyway. So he brought me the package at work and all was fine.
Last time he came to our place, he told Terah, “I almost got stuck getting here on the road I took. What’s the good one?” “That IS the good road.” Followed by a look of panic.
The UPS driver, on the other hand, drives a truck bigger and less maneuverable than the FedEx driver. I told him about the FedEx guy, and he laughed and said, “This isn’t bad! You should see the roads in Butler County!” Perhaps, but I did get some laughter from my coworkers the day I called in because I was late due to being stuck in the mud, and had never left the roadway.
Of course, I say that if the propane guy can make it down our roads in his giant truck — which he always can — then FedEx should have nothing to worry about. Ah well.
