I tried to be as honest as possible when comparing intelliflix with netflix, so I listed the pro’s & con’s of each service. With netflix I have the rent three at a time with a monthly deduction from my bank account. With intelliflix I have the three at a time movies, xxx, & games paid by the year at a discounted rate. I read the consumer reports review that rated intelliflix higher than netflix, I already had netflix and I was not satisfied when the new releases were put on waiting lists. I cancelled the netflix account and then I bought the intelliflix plan. At the beginning I was happy with intelliflix, I was getting all the movies I requested. A month later there service was absolutely unacceptable and after numerous e-mail complaints I re-ordered netflix and tried to cancel intelliflix. I e-mailed intelliflix stating I would like to cancel the membership and they wrote back that they would not refund any portion of the payment, but they would cancel the service at the end of the agreement in 10 months. I figured I would make the best of it and use the two services. I will now list the pro’s and con’s of each service. Intelliflix: Pro’s: quick response from customer service e-mails, innovative feature that lets you click that you sent back the movie and they start shipping the next title in your querie; (limited to 1 time per 3 movies), they have game rentals for consoles and xxx movie’s, and if you pay by the year they give you a discount. Con’s: Slow turnaround, slow shipping (5-10 days), slow returns, unplayable or broken cd’s, dirty cd’s (I clean them and then they will play), lost cd’s when I return them, pre-written responses to customer service requests, new releases seldom available, I have to contact customer service every time I want movies sent from my querie, new releases are seldom available. Netflix Pro’s: Fast turnaround, fast shipping, fast returns, bigger selection of movies, better search engine when looking for movies, better website design, can put future releases in your querie and it will list the release date and then send you the movie when it is released, innovative feature that allows you to watch a movie instantly over the computer and it does not matter if you have 3 movies out and there is a friends list that allows you to add friends on netflix and share your reviews of movies you watched.
Con’s: New releases sometimes have a waiting list, computer generated responses from customer service, online viewing has few new release titles and limited selection; but they are constantly increasing the library. I would rate Intelliflix 1 star and Netflix 7 stars, but in comparing the services: Intelliflix would get 1 star and Netflix I would rate at 10 stars. I have not had any movies from my querie sent from intellitflix in a month, because I have not written customer service complaining, which is the only time they send movies. I have 30 titles in my querie and 10 state they are available, none are being sent or out at this time. It takes 3 days total from Netflix: the day I send it, the day they receive it, the day I get it. If you are going to try intelliflix, take it from me, pay by the month so you can cancel the service, because it is absolutely unacceptable.

I'm stuck in Intelliflix hell right now... too late I found them on the Better Business Bureau, with an "F" rating!

http://www.bbbsoutheastflorida.org/BBBWeb/Forms/Business/CompanyReportPage_Expository.aspx?CompanyID=0023003768

The F means "We strongly question the company’s reliability for reasons such as that they have failed to respond to complaints, their advertising is grossly misleading, they are not in compliance with the law’s licensing or registration requirements, their complaints contain especially serious allegations, or the company’s industry is known for its fraudulent business practices."

Be warned! I received about 60 movies over 9 months, which is not horrible... however, more than a couple were "repeats" because they sent me damaged discs (some literally broken in half). There were also delays in shipping and at one point it was nearly 3 weeks before they shipped out my next title (and they had received my last movie over a week before). In the same 3 weeks I had 12 movies out via Blockbuster on a 2 movie plan (I am on a pre-paid 3 movie plan with Intelliflix). So... 9 months in with Intelliflix and I am in no way going to renew. Good price, but you get what you pay for!

Do not do business with these crooks, they got me the first time with the trial period, rent 2 movies in july 2006 and 2 more dec-2006 (they sent me one title duplicated and charged me twice), now they say they have not yet received 2 of them (1 from jul and 1 from dec06), and they want to charge me $1.50 per movie, per day, that would be $ 525.00 and counting!!!

Question, Eileen - Why couldn't Intelliflix get it right when I (and, presumably, most of the folks here) were still members? It seems that our experience as well as other posters are saying here is rather typical: I've looked at the various consumer-rating sites and the story is pretty much the same - long return times, lots of broken discs due to those shoddy mailers, etc.

And, as far as Intelliflix' "rare" or high-demand titles, a large percentage of those 60,000 titles apparently aren't carried at all. As you know, the Intelliflix system will tell you if a title is in high-demand (it will be grayed out) and prevent you from queuing it. But many titles do not do that - they are not in demand, nor are the queuable. They are not available at all, but they are still in the database. One title that I received broken was still listed afterwards even though no more copies were in stock. I suspect a large percentage of the 60,000 are titles you either never had, or had but your last copy broke and it was not removed from the database. At any rate, that 60,000 is extremely misleading.

While I don't blame you for doing damage-control, Intelliflix needs a long way to go in order to win back my business.

DIRECT CONTACT AND CUSTOMER SUPPORT FROM INTELLIFLIX

I believe in Intelliflix and the quality of service that we provide. I have gone out directly to this site stating that we at Intelliflix are serious about addressing our customers concerns. Our goal is to provide the Intelliflix Customer with a great service at a great price … To give our customers the ‘Ultimate Online DVD Rental Experience’.

I invited and continue to encourage any Intelliflix Customer to contact me directly at eileen@inc.intellilfix.com so that I could assist in resolving any issue(s). Those customers that did contact me directly received immediate attention and resolution of their inquiries.

We are proud to be taking our customer service to the next level by reaching out to customers wherever they are. We are the only company to my knowledge that has made this type of effort and as a result people love our commitment.

Our goal is to deliver your DVD's to your mailbox in 1 to 3 business days (depending on origin and availability).

We have created a system that informs you about our inventory status; so that you can get the most out of your membership with Intelliflix. We have some very unique/rare titles you will not find anywhere else (movies, games & mature); over 60,000 title. We don't hide the fact that some titles are Rare and or in High Demand. We tell you when a DVD is Rare or in High Demand by displaying this message before the DVD is entered into your Queue. "This title is Rare or in High Demand and it is not likely that you will get it in the next 1-30 days. We will ship it out as it becomes available, on a first-come, first-served basis." The DVD is then entered into your Queue. It will be displayed in the Queue Waiting Area at the bottom of the page and will be automatically placed in your regular Queue for shipment as soon as it becomes available.

Our COMING BACK FEATURE let's you tell us that you have mailed back a DVD so we can send you the next movie in your Queue even before we have received it. It is available 4 days after your title was shipped to you, which provides enough time for delivery and for you to watch it at home. Only one title at a time can be listed as "Coming Back". This feature is available to members after 1 month and applies to all general release titles, not to games or mature content.

Intelliflix is a great choice for home entertainment needs. We're good people, we want your business, and we'll work hard to keep it. Customer Satisfaction is our #1 PRIORITY.

Please contact me at eileen@inc.intelliflix.com with your specific account information (name and E-mail address). This will enable me to review your account and contact you directly.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Best Regards,
Eileen

Folks, in case you haven't noticed, the Intelliflix customer service reps have been trolling websites complaining about Intelliflix, saying that 'all you need to do is contact customer support'.

My wife and I were customers and we did that. Intelliflix cancelled our account because of too many customer-support requests.

What were the tickets for? About half the titles we got were broken or scratched and gouged. we let it go for awhile but our queue started getting really backlogged. It's one thing with Blockbuster or other rental places because they ship replacements immediately, but Intelliflix ships out-of-state so replacements take 2-3 days sometimes more. So we requested that Intelliflix send out the titles we were owed, that we would have gotten had they not sent out broken disks-after all, Intelliflix' lack of quality control isn't our fault. They ignored us at first. Then I called their corporate office and my wife emailed their CEO. They told us they would give us a 4-at-a-time plan for two weeks to make it up to us. We agreed. Then we find out yesterday they cancelled our account because of too many customer service requests.

I'm thinking of putting up a page complete with emails illustrating our troubles. But the the bottom line is, this company sucks and don't be fooled by Intelliflix CSR reps suddenly expressing interest in helping you.
